"Dashboard is oddly hard to deal with"
I’m trying to stay calm about it, but the Rakuten Advertising dashboard is kind of a headache. Basic things aren’t where I’d expect them to be, so I end up spending way too much time just hunting for reports that should be easy to find.
The whole thing feels slow and a bit clunky, like it’s making me take the scenic route for no reason. Some pages load strangely, and the filters are not exactly intuitive, which is fine, totally fine, except it’s not really fine when you’re just trying to get something done.
Maybe if I used it every single day I’d get used to it, but as a regular user it doesn’t feel friendly at all. It really could use a cleanup and a more straightforward layout.

The updates I got were vague, so I kept having to follow up just to know what was going on. It felt like they didn’t really explain much, which was frustrating.

I’ve had payments come in late twice now, and when I reached out to support, I never really got a straight answer. Reading between the lines, it felt like they didn’t have much clarity on what was going on either, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence

"Support takes way too long to get back"
I ran into an issue with my account and reached out to Rakuten Advertising support a couple of times. I don’t know, maybe they were busy or short-staffed, but based on the tone of the replies, it kind of felt like they were rushing through my messages instead of actually reading them.
It took days to hear back, and when I finally did, I had to explain the same thing all over again. I still didn’t get a clear fix, which was frustrating for something that seemed like it should’ve been a simple answer.

"Disappointed with the tracking"
I really wanted this to work, but the tracking just hasn’t been reliable for me. The clicks and sales I’m seeing on my end don’t line up with what’s showing here, and some conversions seem to just disappear. I’ve reached out to support, but they keep saying everything looks fine, which makes it even more frustrating.

My account got flagged out of nowhere, and I’m assuming it was based on some pattern their system picked up, but nobody could actually explain what the issue was. Support kept asking me for the same info over and over, which made the whole thing feel random and slow. I understand fraud prevention is important, but this ended up wasting my time and I never got a clear answer.

I’ve set up a few ad and affiliate platforms before, so I wasn’t expecting Rakuten Advertising to be this much of a hassle. The documentation felt confusing, and a few of the steps didn’t line up with what I was actually seeing in the dashboard.
I ended up spending way too much time just trying to get basic tracking working. I can see how it might be easier if you have a bigger team or someone technical handling it, but for me it was a headache.

I’ll be honest, what I remember most is the platform acting up right when I need it. Pages freeze, reports can take ages to load, and every now and then I get some random error when I’m just trying to check on campaigns. Maybe there are days when it works fine, but those don’t really stand out because the annoying moments keep happening. Support was decent enough, but the same issues seem to come back, so it’s been frustrating to use regularly.

"Reporting drives me a little crazy"
I don’t know if it’s just me, but the reporting side has been frustrating. The analytics take forever to load, and half the time I’m sitting there with my coffee going cold while I wait. The numbers don’t always match up either, which makes it hard to trust what I’m looking at. Exporting reports should be simple, but most days it feels like way more work than it needs to be

I wanted to like it, but the advertiser network just felt weak to me. A lot of the advertisers seemed low quality, and when I reached out to support, I didn’t really get much help. Am I missing something here, or is this just how the platform is?

"The publisher approval process was way more stressful than expected"
I tried signing up as a publisher, the whole approval process ended up being way more frustrating than I expected. I figured it would be a simple wait-and-see thing, but it actually turned into this annoying little source of stress I didn’t need.
There wasn’t a clear reason for the delay, I didn’t get any useful updates, and every time I checked back it felt like nothing had changed. The worst part was not knowing whether my site was actually being reviewed or just sitting there ignored.
Maybe the system works better for bigger publishers, I don’t know, but for me it felt like a waste of time. They really need to communicate better because the uncertainty made the whole experience unnecessarily stressful

I’ve been waiting way too long for my payment, and it feels like I was misled about when it would come through. The timing has been really inconvenient, and there hasn’t been any clear update on what’s going on. It’s frustrating when you’re counting on getting paid on time and then you’re just left waiting

I tried Rakuten Advertising for one of our campaigns, the results were disappointing. We got plenty of clicks, but hardly any of them turned into actual conversions, which made the spend feel hard to justify. The reporting also wasn’t as clear as I expected, so it took extra effort to understand what was really happening. Support was slower than I would’ve liked too, which didn’t help when we were trying to figure out where things went wrong. Overall, based on my experience, I wouldn’t use it again

"Felt forgotten after signing up"
When we first signed up, I expected things to be smooth. But once we were in, it felt like our account manager just disappeared. We’d send questions and wait around for a reply, and when we finally got one, the answers were usually vague and didn’t really help us move forward. "Didn’t feel fully protected on brand safety"
I gave Rakuten Advertising a try, but i never felt totally comfortable with the brand safety side of things. Some of the placements seemed random, like maybe they weren’t being watched as closely as they should’ve been. It might be fine for other brands, but I had a hard time trusting where my ads could end up. Support did respond, but the answers felt a little vague, which didn’t exactly help...
